The 2017 Jerry Fish Electric Sideshow

We're only a few weekends away from Electric Picnic, and we're so excited to reveal the first batch of acts announced for our favourite stage... the Jerry Fish Electric Sideshow!

Of course, the carnival ringmaster himself will be performing but he'll also be joined by some of our other acts including KORMAC, THE BLIZZARDS, and R.S.A.G.! Bantum, WOLFF, Jem Mitchell, Interference and the Frank and Walters have also been announced. Joining the JFES for the first time is drag icon, Veda and the Witches, alongside our favourite sideshow sweethearts, The Pony Girls and Foxy P Cox.

"The Jerry Fish Electric Sideshow promises once again to be a highlight of this year’s Picnic, delivering three debauched days and nights of mind blowing, soul bending entertainment. "

Stay tuned for more acts to be announced in the coming days and weeks! And don't forget to check out what we're up to this weekend:

Worldwide Debut of The Blizzards' "Show Me The Science"

Did you hear?! The brand new Blizzards track, "Show Me The Science" made its worldwide debut on RTE 2 FM's Tracy Clifford show today.

If there were any doubts that the Blizzards return was a definitive one, they've shattered them all. Between an 11 date sold out Back to Basics tour (where they returned to all of the Irish cities in which they originally built their following), an all-time high of Spotify plays, and brand new single "Show Me The Science", the Mullingar five-piece have made it clear - they're here to stay.

The Blizzards have partnered up again with producer Philip Magee (The Script, Kodaline) to create a synth-heavy, 80's anthem. "Show Me The Science" is the fourth single from the band's forthcoming album, due later this year.

Lead singer Niall Breslin explains, "The initial lyric idea came from an interview I was listening to on the radio about how we can now use algorithms to find love and I thought to myself, 'that's a load of sh*t'. I think trying to equate love to science almost takes the magic out of it. The song also comes from the idea that everything seems to have been vilified by science. I'd like to think that there are still things in the world that we are not meant to fully understand."

The song is heavily 80's influenced and Bressie adds, "I've always had a deep love of power pop. I wanted to add that retro sound but still keep it sounding like the Blizzards.  It was so much fun recording and producing this and we wanted to get that across in the tune." And as for that unforgettable saxophone solo by award winning jazz musician, Ben Castle? "We personally feel there is not enough sax solos in modern pop music. We wanted to help try bring back the glory of the sax solo as it's the worlds sexiest instrument... just behind bag pipes!"

The group have an array of tour dates, including many Irish festivals, this summer and have their first massive outdoor show of the summer on June 17 when they support The 1975 in Malahide Castle.

"Show Me The Science" is available everywhere on July 7!

A Week In The Life of CWB

In the past month, we've had 7 new releases via Reckless Records from our acts... so to say it's been a busy month is quite an understatement! But on top of all of those releases, we have even more exciting news and summer plans.

We celebrated our Bank Holiday weekend with Kormac at the launch of his single I BELIEVE in the Sugar Club. With Soule as an opening act and Michael Pope of Le Galaxie DJing, the whole place was screaming "I BELIEVE" by the end of the night! Congrats, Kormac!

Le Galaxie's "PLEASURE" has been featured on BBC Radio One's Huw Stephens show (thanks, Huw!) And the video, directed by Sam Hooper, premiered on UK blog, the 405!  If you haven't seen it yet you can watch below:

The guys will next perform at YESTIVAL, the celebration of two years since the marriage equality referendum, on May 19th at District 8.

Jack O'Rourke has been causing quite a commotion in Cork - between his performance at Right Here Right Now in the Cork Opera House and his upcoming showcase at Music Cork, Jack is not to be missed. He's set to travel the rest of the country at various festivals this summer including Groove Festival in Bray!

After smashing their back to back gigs in London in March and dominating Canadian Music Week in April, our bitches in Bitch Falcon head back to London for another round, this time with our friends in Gigslutz. They'll be along side some great acts... and check out who's rocking on this poster! Lizzie.. you badass!

Yesterday, we heard Ivy Nations on 2FM for their Studio 8 Session where they announced their first headline gig of the year at the Grand Social with MCD! Tickets are on sale now and you can pick them up right here!

If you were at The Ball in Dun Laoghaire, you would've seen Mark McCabe's unforgettable DJ set that can only be described by the pictures below!

You can see him over the next two months on the following dates:

  • May 27th - Ruby's - Strabane
  • June 3rd - Limelight - Glenties
  • June 4th - K Fest - Killarney
  • June 12th - Time - Cookstown
  • June 23rd - Pulse - Letterkenny

Mr. Jerry Fish is gearing up for the re-release of his well known track, BLUE, which will be available shortly. He's also recently been announced for Live at Leopardstown with the full Electric Sideshow gang! We are currently booking his Tall Tales and Songs of Jerry Fish tour and you can get in touch with Ciara in our office for more details (ciara@cwb.ie).

We've got (even) more new music headed towards you this summer, but until next time, make sure you're following us on Spotify to keep up with all our latest releases!

Our Busiest Week Ever: Launches, Parties, New Videos and More!

Normally the week after a bank holiday is a quiet one, and a week between two bank holidays? - Forget it about, deadsville!

Last week was one of the those weeks straight after a busy Easter and just before the May Bank Holiday but quiet it was not .

The week(end) kicked off on Wednesday night when Le Galaxie threw open the doors of their studio to 30 superfans (picked out of over 1500 + applications) via the great Beatvyne site and threw one hell of a party to launch their new single “Pleasure”  Absolut Vodka brought some drinks to the party and you can get a taste of the night below.

We also bid a temporary farewell to our lovely Bitch Falcons as they flew across the pond to Canadian Music Week where they played two shows in Toronto - well done, bitches!

Thursday saw Le Galaxie DJ at the opening of the Blizzards lead singer Bressie’s new studio, Camden Recording studios. Meanwhile in Cork, Jack O'Rourke went live with Paul McLoone in Connolly's of Leap alongside HamSandwich and Slow Riot Band. And of course, the long awaited first music video from Ivy Nations for "Live By Design" premiered on London On The Inside!

On Friday, "PLEASURE" was officially released - you can get it now on all the usual platforms including -

Spotify: http://spoti.fi/2oXU7FP
