CWB Celebrates Culture Night

If you're headed out to explore what's on for Culture Night, make sure to check out what we're up to!

Stomptown Brass and Jerry Fish both have brand new shows as part of the Dublin Fringe Festival. Stomptown's "Requiem for the Truth" sees the 10-piece mourning the death of the truth in St. Werburgh's Church at 19:30. Meanwhile in the Project Arts Centre, Jerry tells the autobiographical songs and tall tales of his upbringing in "Misery Hill". The show starts at 21:00, just in time to head over from St. Werburgh's!

Over at Dublin Castle, The Strypes will be playing at RTE Arena's open air concert with many, many others between 7pm and 10 pm.

Last but certainly not least, our founder, Joe Clarke, will be taking part in a Music Managers panel hosted by IMRO in the IMRO building for 6 pm.

If you're not around for Culture Night, you can still check out both Fringe Festival shows for the rest of the weekend!

REGUIEM FOR THE TRUTH

Outrageously energetic 10-piece street-funk band Stomptown Brass invite you to join them as they take on an audacious task; to host a funeral for the truth. Witness the colourful exuberance of the Haitian Voodoo-inspired New Orleans jazz funeral as it smashes up against the mournful, solemn ceremony of Roman Catholicism. This is a show both life-affirming and other-worldly. An extravagant, chaotic street party with a dark twist. So get in (second-)line, and follow the blistering trumpets and blaring trombones from the streets of Dublin to the house of God as we ask: is Truth really dead? Was it ever alive?

Dates Sep 21 - 24 @ 19:30
