The Strypes announce "Roadtest" Tour - updated dates

20 date intimate tour for the Cavan foursome.

Emerging blinking into the sun from a long winter in the studio recording their next flop, The Strypes are getting back in the saddle the best way they know how. With a month long tour taking them to 20 of the country’s greatest small and beautifully formed music venues to road test the new songs and flog the old ones to death.

Bass player Pete O'Hanlon said - "We feel this type of tour suits us the best. The idea of playing up close to crowds where you can see the whites of their eyes is thrilling. Where better than Ireland to start a year of touring?"

Drummer Evan Walsh said -.... nothing as he was out when we rang.

From Portrush to Kilorglin and Mullingar to Drumlish, The Strypes “Roadtest” Tour will come to a small to medium sized town near you this month.

The Strypes agent Joe Clarke said “This is a dream tour to book out, the band get to play these great intimate venues and the audience get to see the band in their natural habitat - small, sweaty and rocking gigs!”

Kicking off on Thursday 26th February in Monaghan and wrapping up on Sunday 29th March in Kilorglin this is a unique chance to see the band tipped by everyone from Paul Weller to Dave Grohl up close and personal.

Tickets for all shows go on sale this Friday 13th February from the the venues and online. Full details at www.thestrypes.com and www.cwb.ie

On the production front, it was an emotional closing to Limerick City of Culture on December 27th. It had been an an amazing year for Limerick and for CWB as a company with the transformation of the Culture Factory from empty warehouse to world class performance space hosting Fuerza Bruta and No Fit State amongst others a real high point. The Culture Factory's next incarnation looks set to be as a film studio and having shot the Rubberbandits Channel 4 pilot there, we know it will be amazing for that too !  We are currently working on a number of the Legacy Projects in Limerick for the year ahead and it's  been amazing the impact the City of Culture project has had on the city. Keep up to date on 2015 activity over at http://limerickcityofculture.ie/

To give you a feel for what Kormac is about here is WHITE NOISE from his current album Doorsteps:

The Weekend Ahead - 12/12/14

It's been a busy week here at CWB with The Strypes sell-out Irish tour continuing around the country with Drogheda, Dublin and Kilkenny already done this week and Belfast and Derry this weekend.

The First of hopefully many Annual CWB Christmas Fundraisers for the SVP Xmas Appeal was a great time for all on Wednesday night with Le Galaxie, Seo Linn, Kormac and Leading Armies being joined by The Strypes to play for a capacity crowd in the old school but charming Bello Bar in Portobello. We raised €1450 for SVP and another €400 for the FAST Anti Drugs Campaign and thanks to all the bands, the venue and Absolut Vodka for helping make it happen.

On Thursday both Kormac & the Big Band and Le Galaxie played the Facebook Christmas Party in the stunning space of CHQ and was super fun. Thanks to them for having us.

Here is our weekend action. The Strypes are in Belfast Tonight and Derry tomorrow. Kormac is at Other Voices in Dingle tonight and Set Theatre Kilkenny tomorrow while Seo Linn are at Other Voices Sunday afternoon and in Whelanslive on Sunday night !

Other Voices this Weekend

We are delighted that 2 of our roster Seo Linn and Kormac with this Big Band have been chosen to play at Other Voices this coming weekend. It is always a very special weekend and we have great memories of the Strypes show in the Church back in 2012. Here is a handy guide to all the times of all the performances over the weekend. See you in An Chonair on Friday and the Lab on Sunday!
