Le Galaxie at Le Cannes

We're in Cannes this weekend for the annual MIDEM Festival, catching up on a rake of interesting panel + conference discussions.

Le Galaxie are also on the way, flying out as we speak. They play at Morrisson's tonight at 10pm ahead of their official showcase at Esplanade Pantiero tomorrow afternoon.

Maud in Cahoots: 'Greatest Achievement' video callout + Irish Central's Spotify playlist

Maud in Cahoots are asking you to be a part of the new video for their amazing single 'Greatest Achievement'. The band are looking for folks to share their 'greatest achievement'. Either write it down on paper and send it in, or else record a short ten second video explaining what your greatest achievement is!

In other MIC news, the new single has been playlisted on Irish Central's #playirish Spotify May playlist. It's the USA's biggest Irish website and great to see the band included with such esteemed company as Hozier, Young Wonder and Roisin O!

Le Galaxie: announced for Longitude and off to Cannes!

You may have heard the news last week: Le Galaxie have been added to the already stellar Longitude bill in Marlay Park, playing Saturday 18th of July. Get your tickets here: longitude.ie/tickets

Before taking to the stage in Marlay Park however, the boys are off to Cannes on June 6th to play at the prestigious MIDEM Festival. They band are one of only a handful of live acts selected to play at the influential festival, and we're very excited to be heading over with them!

Back from Brighton / The Strypes' New Album

We're just back from a crazy few days at The Great Escape, with packed houses for both of Le Galaxie's shows and the Brighton Dome barely holding its structure after The Strypes electrifying set supporting Alabama Shakes.

Speaking of The Strypes, the boys have just announced their second studio album Little Victories, which will be released on Virgin EMI on 24th July. Have a listen to their session video for 'Eighty-Four' below:

While over in the Brighton Dome on Friday night, The Strypes will be opening for festival headliners Alabama Shakes
 

In other CWB news, Kormac recently performed a specially-commissioned piece for Pernod Ricard to celebrate the 50th anniversary of their bottling plant at Fox & Geese. Based around 'found sounds' recorded in the factory - along with vocals provided by the amazing Vyvienne Long - it's Kormac's first new material since the release of his album Doorsteps last year, and the performance showcased the new Kormac (live) show, due to tour Europe this summer and fall.
 

Maud in Cahoots are just back from an amazing time at Canadian Music Week and in New York. They've also been announced for Indiependence - check out the full lineup here: indiependencefestival.com

New track from The Strypes / Le Galaxie in Spotify Top 10

It's been another busy and exciting week here in CWB towers. 

First off, The Strypes have just dropped their new single Scumbag City Blues ahead of their very long tour which kicked off in Leicester last night. Check it out here and be sure to turn it up loud!
