The Strypes sell out the Academy and more news !

We've been a little tardy in updating our news this last month as it's been non stop action here at the CWB office so here is a quick rundown on what's been and will be happening!

The Strypes

The Strypes second album, Little Victories, was released and went top 10 in the UK and No.1 in Ireland . They kick off their UK and Ireland tour in Derry on 23rd September and continue on a sold out run until Mid October before heading to Japan and Europe. In other Strypes news, in a moment we could have never foreseen when we met them in a field in Cavan a few short years ago, they last week met Donatella Versace - enclosed is the photographic proof !

After a sold out show at the Academy on September 24, The Strypes have announced their next Dublin gig for Saturday January 30, 2016 at the Olympia Theatre. Tickets go on sale for this show HERE on Monday September 28 at 9 a.m.!

Le Galaxie

A rip-roaring live return to Electric Picnic which you can see loads of photos of over at www.legalaxie.net and the imminent UK release of Love System this Friday 25th have kept your favourite dancefloor tearjerkers busy. BBC Radio 1 have been supporting the track and the video debuts this Friday. In other news, they will be joining Chic, Jamie XX and Mark Ronson at Dublin's new Metropolis Festival on the first weekend of November before heading to the UK and France to play the amazing Transmusicales Festival in Rennes. These gigs align with the worldwide release of Le Club on 27th November. Before all that excitement, they head back to New York City to play a brace of shows around CMJ in Mid October.

Maud in Cahoots

Maud in Cahoots brand new single "Cure for the Crazy" is out this Friday and you can preview it over here. You can request it now on all Irish radio stations. They celebrated with a sold out Grand Social last Saturday and you can catch them at the HWCH festival on the weekend of 1,2,3 October in Dublin.

Kormac

Kormac just finished a massive commission for Jameson which saw him compose a found sounds audio and video project which was then performed live in the historic Midleton Distillery . He emerges from the studio this October and  November to play the Cork Jazz Festival, Metropolis and a brace of French dates.

Jerry Fish

This year's Jerry Fish Electric Sideshow at Electric Picnic was a complete roadblock from afternoon to early morning every single day of the festival with stellar guest slots from The Sultans of Ping, Fight Like Apes, The Strypes and Kid Karate along with over 200 other performers. The End of the World Party on the Sunday with Jerry and the band was just the insanity you’d expect! The big news is that that insanity is now going on the road with a brace of Jerry Fish’s Electric Sideshow doing a winter tour opening up with a show at the Cork Opera House for the Jazz Festival on October 23rd with 3 more shows to be announced next week.

That's about it for it for now!

Le Galaxie Sign with Reservoir !

We are delighted to announce that Le Galaxie have signed their publishing to NY based publishers Reservoir.  Read what Reservoir had to say below !

RESERVOIR SIGNS IRISH EDM BAND LE GALAXIE

8/19/2015

Reservoir is proud to announce the signing of Dublin-based live EDM group Le Galaxie.  The deal comes on the heels of two major highlights for the up-and-coming act—the May release of Le Club, the band's latest full-length album and major label debut; and the announcement of their headlining set at September's Electric Picnic festival, a renowned three-day arts and music celebration held in Ireland.

This year has been a busy one for Le Galaxie members Michael Pope, David McGloughlin, Anthony Hyland, and Alastair Higgins, who have remained active since the 2011 release of their acclaimed debut album, Laserdisc Nights II.  Since signing a recording contract with Universal Music Ireland in January, the band has stayed hard at work supporting Le Club at festivals in their home country like Longitude and Sea Sessions.  Now aligned with Reservoir, priorities will include continuing to pursue collaborative opportunities with artists like those found on Le Club—singer Elaine Mai and mix engineer Eric Broucek (Holy Ghost, Classixx) both make appearances—as well as finding placement opportunities for their sync-ready brand of dance-pop.

Reservoir Director of Licensing & Creative Andy Moerschell spearheaded the company’s relationship with Le Galaxie, citing the band's riveting live show among his top reasons for adding it to the roster.

"I was not prepared for how incredible Le Galaxie would be live,” says Moerschell, who first saw the band perform at Pianos in New York City.  “The energy of their songs and stage presence is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced, and the fact that they’re able to recreate that feeling on a recording like Le Club cements what a special act this is. I’m excited to be part of their team and ever-growing fan base.”

This Fall will see Le Galaxie drop a new single, play the Waves Festival in Austria amidst a string of European dates, and release Le Club in additional territories.

Le Galaxie front man Michael Pope says about the signing, “We are so excited to be part of the Reservoir family, a family that includes music by Major Lazer, MØ, and M.I.A.  When we create Le Galaxie music we dream of it reaching the biggest audience possible, we dream of it soundtracking experiences all over the world.  Now we all get to dream together.”  Although, he adds, “Not literally.  That would be impossible.”

Some CWB updates!

It's been a busy week or two here at CWB and we are all disappointed that the Andy Lee fight is being rescheduled and moved. It was a hugely ambitious project to bring a world title fight to an outdoor stadium and we are gutted for Adam and Jon at Booth Boxing who were a pleasure to work with but are all looking forward to seeing Andy retain his title in Manchester on October 10th!

We are delighted to have lots of our roster playing at this Electric Picnic with Le Galaxie, RSAG, Maud in Cahoots, Hare Squead, Paddy Dennehy & the Red Herring and a couple of other surprises heading down to the best weekend of the year. Full line up details over at www.electricpicnic.ie

But only one of our acts has his very own wonderland of delights in Stradbally all weekend - Jerry Fish is back with a bigger, better and sexier Electric Sideshow with a top line up including:

The Sultans of Ping -- Fight Like Apes --The Frank and Walters -- Mick Flannery --R.S.A.G. -- Maud in Cahoots -- The Eskies -- O Emperor --The Clameens -- Musici Ireland -- Veda -- Slap and Tickle -- North Strand Kontra Band -- Ajo Arkestra (Dublin Afrobeat) -- Shadowboxer -- Traditional Irish Breakfast with the Ceili All Stars -- The Kilo 1977 -- Shir Madness -- Foxy P Cox -- The Pony Girls -- And Many More!

See you in the field!

In other Kormac news, he recently celebrated getting over 2 million plays for Wash My Hands on Spotify! In celebration, let's have another listen:
