Now that you’ve recovered from the bank holiday weekend we’re back again this week with our roundup of all the freshest things that are on our radar, and we’ll tell you this much there’s lots to choose from.

The Strypes, Japan Tour.

These boys never stop and after a killer show at Samhain Festival last weekend, that saw Hotpress proclaiming “I’ve said it before but The Strypes seem to get better every time you see them.”, and an American tour they’re off on the road again. This time will see them take Japan by storm with five shows around the country including a sell out in Shibuya, O-East Japan with the rest set to follow suit. If you can’t quite make it to Japan, you can catch up on all their adventures via their tour video series “The Surprisingly Dull Adventures of The Strypes”, which we promise are more exciting than they sound. There’s also a chance to get up and personal with them when they perform three shows this December in Whelans, with shows on the 21st and 22nd and a matinee show on the 22nd. Grab your tickets quickly before their gone from here: http://bit.ly/StrypesWhelans2017

This month sees Bitch Falcon release their latest single “Of Heart”, which we’ve had on repeat full volume since getting our mitts on it, and head off on a nationwide tour in support of it. Le Galaxie, Cork.
Another band who showed Samhain audiences how to have a good time was Le Galaxie, with yet another legendary show. The week ahead will see the band in rehearsals for their Smithick Soundtrack Series show in Cyprus Avenue where they will bring their boundless energy and creative flair to the stage as they perform their own interpretation of the Apocalypse Now soundtrack. Whether familiar with the film or not, gig goers will experience something truly special as the Dublin synth-poppers take inspiration from this iconic soundtrack to produce a one-off Le Galaxie creation. A guaranteed good time, limited tickets are available here:

RSAG, Other Voices Kerry.

Our favourite party animals Le Galaxie are taking to the stage on Saturday along with 2Many DJ’s and Annie Mac, while on Sunday The Strypes take to the stage with the legend that is Liam Gallagher in a line up that also features Touts. If you make it to one day or both you’re in for a treat!

Sunday is a sell out but there are still some Saturday tickets left, so grab them before they’re gone here: http://bit.ly/SamhainFestival2017

The Blizzards, Castlefest Kilkenny.
JOE.ie described it as a “hugely impressive festival” and we think they’ve hit the nail on the head! Where else are you going to catch The Blizzards, Little Hours and Chasing Abbey on the same lineup? After taking a break, The Blizzards are back and bigger than ever so this is a chance to catch them at their best! We’ve seen the setlist and know you’re in for a treat!

Kormac, The Cork Jazz Festival.

Cork has always had an incredibly vibrant music scene through the years and it’s no different now. The recent Sounds From a Safe Harbour was a roaring success and this weekend’s Jazz Festival, which at this stage is a Cork institution, is set to be no different. One of the highlights of the weekend is sure to be Kormac’s AV set in Cyprus Avenue. His shows are totally off the wall with Annie Mac describing his show as “the most bizarre setup I've ever seen, but it really works.”.

If you want to experience it for yourself, nab a ticket here: http://bit.ly/KormacCypus

Kormac, Future Sounds Spotlight Killarney.
If you can’t make it to Cork on Saturday don’t worry Kormac has another show lined up in the south of the country this weekend this time in Killarney’s INEC on Sunday the 29th as a part of Future Sounds in association with Spin South West. Not only will Kormac be playing a insane set but Overhead, The Albatross and Daithi are also playing so you’re really getting a lot of bang for your buck!

Playing the Cork Opera House on Sunday night, it’s sure to one of the highlights of this weekend. We would tell you to nab a ticket but they’re all sold out so if you want to get yourself to the show you’ll have to beg, borrow or steal your way in.

Bitch Falcon, Castlebar.

Bitch Falcon’s shows in The Garbo are by now legendary, so by popular demand they’re back to headline this year’s Halloween Fancy Dress Ball. We can’t think of a better way to spend the Bank Holiday Saturday than rocking out in fancy dress to one of the best live bands in the country. Bitch Falcon are a band on their way to the top, so make sure you catch them now before they’re playing stadiums!

The Strypes Take America By Storm!

The Strypes are just off the back of the American leg of their “Spitting Image” tour promoting their album of the same name. Demonstrating night after night that rock ‘n roll truly isn’t dead, The Strypes “Spitting Image” tour saw a formidable band take to the stage every night. Having honed their act from a young age, this is The Strypes at their very best. This tour saw the band on top form and they have never been tighter, the odd dozen shows and numerous festival appearances they’ve made over the last few months mean they are a well oiled machine. Fans got what they wanted everynight, a hit filled set-list loaded with big hitters and fan favourites that span over their seven year career. Incredible considering the band are now only in their early twenties, songs like Blue Collar Jane serve as a reminder of how good their material has been from the very start. A hi-octane show from start to finish it’s obvious from the first note that the band mean business and they play some of their sharpest gigs to date. Even with months of touring already under their belts this is only the start for the boys from Cavan, the “Spitting Image” tour will see them take the world by storm playing everywhere from the UK to Japan. Make sure you don’t miss out seeing them on them on this tour, the next stop is sharing a stage with the inimitable Liam Gallagher who headlines Samhain Festival on the 28th of October.
