Roscommon native, Radio presenter, Club DJ, and general messer Fergal D’arcy’s has been on your wireless for the last 8 years. Now on Today FM team, his hijinks and escapades can be heard weekdays from 7-9pm Monday to Thursday and 4-7pm on Sundays. Fergal started his career as a breakfast presenter and producer on Clare Fm, but Fergal really made a name for himself on his hugely popular afternoon show on iRadio, “I Go Home” . Fergal has described himself as an ‘’Ideas man’’ and his unique brand of entertainment and off the wall content definitely supports that claim. During his time in iRadio, D’arcy's creative capers made him a fan favorite,skits including Fergal’s random reflection Gospel choir- taking normal everyday scenarios and making gospel songs about praising the Lord and Fergal’s Funny bits which had everything from prank phone calls to windups around the office. Fergal’s uplifting shenanigans built up an impressive listenership of over 100,000 listeners across 15 counties in the North East and North West region. His on-air creativeness garnered Fergal a Gold PPI ‘Award for ‘Light Hearted Magazine Programme’ in 2008 and in 2013 for ‘Best Music Program’’. Not just popular on the airwaves, Fergal is also well known on the club DJ scene, having entertained the masses at numerous music festivals, including The Electric Picnic and Oxegen.
