2017 in Review: Paddy Dennehy and The Red Herring

It’s been a pretty incredible for Paddy Dennehy and The Red Herring, and it kicked off with a bang for the band as they rang in the New Year with an Epic New Years Eve Party in The Bowery alongside Jerry Fish.

Paddy was also delighted to play the Hard Working Class Heroes Music Trail. The festival is one of the highlights on the Irish musical calendar and last year saw over 60 acts per day play in venues across the city over the three nights.

January saw Paddy play an amazing show at Tradfest. The festival is Ireland’s biggest trad festival and is renowned for showcasing the best of Irish and international folk and trad artists while offering up and comers the opportunity to showcase their music. February saw the momentum keep coming as they released their beautiful single “The Dance” and it’s accompanying video directed by Stuart Duffy and featuring our very own Paul Boland.

This summer saw Paddy Dennehy and the Red Herring take to the roads and hit the festival circuit, playing amazing shows around the country from Townlands Carnival to Independence. Before we knew it October was drawing in, and alongside a host of other amazing shows one of the highlights would have to be Paddy Dennehy and the Red Herring sharing the stage with the Mercury award winner Badly Drawn Boy. 2018 is already set to hold amazing things for the band as they’re currently in studio with Christian Best in Limerick.
