2017 in Review: Stomptown Brass

2017 was a pretty special year for the boys from Stomptown Brass as they released their very first single "I Got A Plan". The uplifting video for the bombastic song was filmed live at the Bernard Shaw and captured perfectly the vibrancy of Stomptown’s live performances.

To coincide with the release of the single Stomptown announced a nationwide Irish tour that saw them play Cork, Waterford, Galway, Belfast, Limerick, Louth and not one but two sold out Dublin show’s in Dublin’s very own Chocolate Factory.

Before we knew it summer had arrived and with it festival season. If you’ve seen Stomptown play live you know they’re THE perfect festival band, it’s impossible to see them play live and not have a good time! Along with the honour of playing the launch of Electric Picnic, this summer saw them take festivals around the country by storm including Sea Sessions, Townland, Indiependence and Electric Picnic.

As summer drew to a close, Stomptown showed no signs of stopping and September saw the debut run of their critically acclaimed Dublin Fringe Festival show "Requiem for the Truth". The incredible show saw Stomptown invite the audience to join them as they take on an audacious task: to host a funeral for the Truth. People were invited to witness the colourful exuberance of the Haitian Voodoo-inspired New Orleans jazz funeral as it smashes up against the mournful, solemn ceremony of Roman Catholicism. We can’t wait to see what the boys have up their sleeves next!
